Unix/Linux Servers: Physical Disk
Hello, Under Monitoring > Unix/Linux Servers > Linux > Performance there is a dashboard Physical Disk Performance It is always blank... Any rule/monitor to enable to get this data? No override. Monitors and Rules "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Physical Disk" are enabled but apparently the "Discover Type: Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 Physical Disk" is not enabled, could it be the missing item? ... not enough as I still don't see the Physicale Disk\Avg. Disk sec/Transfer Performance. the Physical DiIsk\Disk Bytes/sec Performance is showing but always at 0!!! I tried to recreate the view on the "Entity " & "SUSE Linux Enterprise Instance Group" "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Physical Disk" & "SUSE Linux Enterprise Instance Group" "Entity " & "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Computer Group" "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Physical Disk" & "SUSE Linux Enterprise Instance Group" - Disk Bytes/sec or Avg. Disk Sec/Transfer but it remains blank... still in progress !!! Some clarifying questions: 1) You are correct that physical disk discoveries are disabled by default. It wasn't completely clear from your comments -- did you enable the physical disk discoveries, and the problem still occurs? 2) What version of OpsMgr? 2007 R2? Or System Center 2012 OpsMgr? 3) What sort of physical disk hardware do you have on this computer? Is it single physical disks, or some kind of disk array with a RAID controller? If it's a disk array, do you know the controller brand and model?Michael Kelley, Lead Program Manager, System Center Cross Platform

Hi, I think you may try to enable the discovery Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 Physical Disk" and see if it works. Meanwhile, please ensure you have the latest version of the management pack and check the settings referring to the management pack guide: System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Cross Platform Monitoring Management Packs http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=18891 Thanks.
