Uninstalling SteadyState....... Think I goofed.
Recently had a problem and uninstalled Steady State from the pc by using the Add/Remove programs in the control panel. After rebooting the pc would not reconginize the user account. It would just go right to administration login. I reinstalled Steady State. Got the user account back but couldn't make any changes at all in the guest accountWhat did I do and how can I correct it. I've been to the steady state section of microsoft...no help. I also have the manual....no help. Thanks librarymannj63

Did you have WDP enabled when you went to remove SteadyState from the Add/Remove programs list? Did you make sure ALL of the accounts restrictions were disabled? If you didn't, you may have corrupted your profile. Try turning off WDP and try uninstalling again. If you were not using WDP, and all restrictions are disabled, I'm not sure but I think the accounts SS is securing get deleted upon uninstallation of SS, but I could be wrong. You could try, as Sean mentions in the thread below yours, try reinstalling SS, then disable all restrictions, and then uninstall again. See if that helps. Otherwise, if you are still having issues, you might be better off reimaging or doing a clean install. Hopefully, Sean will be along to better help out. Thanks for Philip's input. Also, I'd like to know what do you mean by "not recongnize the user account", do you mean it automatically log on as the administrator account though you have chosen the guest account? If this is not a very important restricted user account, we can also consider rebuilding the account.Sean Zhu - MSFT
