Uninstall Application in SCCM 2012

I am sure this is super easy but this is the first time I have actually been able to use a .msi to create an application inside of SCCM 2012 and it is not giving me all the deployment types I would expect.  I was able to create an application install for Prologue application we use and that tested fine but I dod not see the "Uninstall" option in the deployment types listed under the selected application.

Screen shot of SCCM Console

If I look in the properties of the deployment I can see the "Uninstall Program" listed but to me I feel like I should be looking somewhere else.

When I had done .msi packages in the past SCCM would generate like 6 different deployment options for the install and uninstall.  I guess I was expecting at least the install and the uninstall to be listed under my application.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Rich

The nice thing is that you will see that when you perform your deployment. Based on the configured information above, you'll be able to choose between an Install and Uninstall.

if you deploy the application as require the uninstall option is DISABLE.

So if you want to be able to uninstall you can either make the deployment to  available the user will be able to install and once hes done it will be able to uninstall using the software center.

If you want to force a uninstall you can deploy and change the install to uninstall.

These option use the same deployment type. You don't need multiple deployment type.

I guess I am missing something or complicating things. So I pushed the install to my collection - "UCS Test" with an expired date so it installs automatically without user interaction(which this is what we do for all of our packages, updates, etc)  and it works fine and I can see it in Software Center.

Let's say after we deploy this that I find out it needs to be removed.  How do I go about that?  I just tried to redeploy the same deployment in  hopes it would see the PC has the application and then uninstall based on those findings but it says it has already been deployed to "UCS Test" collection.  This needs to be done with no user interaction in our environment.

I did see in the software center where you can choose install or uninstall...but the user is not allowed to do any of these functions so it needs to be done at the deployment level.

"Install" wins if both - install and uninstall deployments - are targeted to the same client. So you would have to remove the install deployment first (or remove the client from the install collection).

If you want to force a uninstall you can deploy and change the install to uninstall.

I Guess I do not know where to change it to uninstall.

First note that you cannot deploy an application to a single collection more than once. Thus, you need to delete the first (install) deployment before being able to deploy the uninstall.

Next, an install deployment trumps a uninstall. This comes into play if you happen to have both targeted to a single system based on that system being in multiple collections each with a deployment of a single application targeted at them but one set for install and one set for uninstall.

Finally, the choice between an Install or an Uninstall is set at the time you create the deployment and can be seen on the Deployment Settings tab as the Action. You cannot change this once the deployment is created. To be clear, this is *not* set on the deployment type, it is set on the deployment of the applic

Ok I see what you mean. I like the idea of having to separate deployments but it is not like we will use it that often. I think I am good. Thanks for helping the noob :)
