Uninstall ADK 8.1 temporarily

I've been asked to return to a client site to sort out their SCCM. They were running SCCM 2012 SP1 with MDT2010 integrated. Somebody decided to upgrade to R2 because they couldn't get task sequences to work but this has now broken connectivity to MDT 2010 since it has ADK 8.1 (I had setup an MDT integrated Task sequence)

Trying to work out best course of action. Looking at release notes it appears you can't upgrade MDT database straight from MDT2010 to 2013 - I think you have to install MDT 2012 and then upgrade database. My problem is I suspect that it will still not be able to connect to MDT with ADK 8.1. So my question is can I temporarily uninstall ADK 8.1 and install 8.0 in order to get MDT back up to speed. Then install MDT 2013 , remove ADK 8.0 and reinstall ADK 8.1  and upgrade database. i.e. after all this will SCCM 2012 R2 b

That shouldn't be a problem, as there is no direct integration between ConfigMgr and the different ADK tools. The only time you can run into problems is when you want to do something with images, as ConfigMgr will try to call DISM and that might not be there or might be the wrong version.

ok - excellent. I think that's my plan then. As long as I end up with ADK 8.1 then dism/osd should work fine
