Understanding the Migration Process
So I need to migrate from 2010 to 2013, I know that I need to move the databases and service applications needed to a new SQL 2012 server, then I need to attach the content database to the new web application, but then i am lost, using sharegate is easy, its a copy and paste job basically. But if we don't buy sharegate and i have moved and attached the databases, what happens next? Do i need to copy all the sites? Managed Met

Hi,

According to your description, you have no idea after attaching the databases.

You dont need to copy all the sites. All the sites have been migrated to your new farm when you attached the databases. You only need to let site owners upgrade their site collections. However, there are a little difference about upgrading MySites. If the users want to upgrade their MySites, you should upgrade the MySite Host firstly.
