Hi, Could you please try to open the files from the SharePoint document library in a normal Windows environment? If it works, then the cause of the issue is the Citrix environment. As I am not familiar with the Citrix, I can only suggest you to check whether users have the write permission to the local disk. Please give us more information on how the Citrix works in your environment in order to get more useful suggestions. Thanks for your cooperation. -lambertPosting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hi LambertTalked to the servicedesk and it seems like it only occurs within Citrix, as far as they know.Permissionsare Ok and they can create and save files on the file server. It's kinda strange that they can't save the file on a local driver oron the file serverwhenthefile isall ready open.If you open a file from SharePoint and save it localy, does the save procedure try to conntact SharePoint first, even though you save it localy?

We have a similar problem. We are running MOSS 2007 with maybe 200 users and at least once a week we loose work from Excel 2007 spreadsheets, same error "Document could not be saved" again attempting to save elsewhere usually results in excel crashing. We do not have a Citrix environment. Any one have any ideas what might be causing this?

Deal All, Please use Office 2007 with SharePoint 2007. As there comes certain limitations if one is using Office 2003 with SharePoint 2007. Upto my knowledge, you cannot edit Excel file directly from browser using Office 2003. P.S: Dear MVPs, Please correct me if i am wrong...
