Unable to push an agent to Windows 7, error 80070043 "The network name cannot be found"

SCE 2010 RC, version 7.0.2346.0

I have a Windows 7 box that won't take the Agent.  When I go to Administration, Pending Management, I see this workstation as a failed install.  I cleared my event logs on the target and ran a repair on the agent install, and nothing appeared in in any of the 3 windows event logs.  Can you provide an idea on what logs I can look in to figure this out?

Here's the error from the Console:

The Operations Manager Server could not find directory (null). Agent will not be installed on computer computername.domainname.com (edited for this post). Please
verify the required share exists.
Operation: Agent Install
Install account: DOMAINNAME\domainadminaccount  (It's a full domain admin account)
Error Code: 80070043
Error Description: The network name cannot be found.

Hi Lohman,

Did the agent eventually get installed on this computer?

If not, could you please attempt to install the agent on this computer manually?

A manual install worked.  It never installed on its own.

I'm having exactly the same problem with SCE 2010 RTM trying to install the agents from Server 2008 standard (x86 EN) to Windows 7 Pro (x86 EN).

Is there a solution besides installing manual?

check dns to make sure you don't have a conflicting entry where that computer has 2 ip's or another computer shares the ip with the one you're trying to install. Obviously, make sure the computer in question has a dns record in the first place.

I am having the same problem when pushing agents or updates to servers, also. I have discovered that the problem is with the sharename of the root directory being changed to something other than the standard C$ indicating the administrative share of the server.

I am facing the same problem on 2 of 10 Workstations. Any solutions?

How do you manually install the agent? Where can I find the installer package?
