Unable to open files on SharePoint 2003
I'm the administrator for a team site. We essentially use it as a place for document storage, among other things. I'm finding that some users are having issues opening up particular files. The files are all different, and when I try and open them, they open just fine. They are Excel files. One instance, I was able to pull it, send to the person who was having issues, and then she uploaded it and it worked. The other 2 people I've come across with the issue aren't so lucky. I've had them run the Diagnostics, but that didn't help those two, and they still can't view the files they need to access. I've checked with other people, and they are able to open up each file. It's leading me to believe it's something with their workstations, although they are telling me it's not every file they try and open, just the one or two, and others that are Excel, they can open. Any ideas? I've had them call our IT Help Desk, and they have a ticket out for it, I'm assuming with our local guy, but I would prefer to be able to get them an answer quickly if at all possible. If more info is needed, please let me know. Thanks!

There could be some issues with files that have long names. This is essentially because IE does not support URL's longer than 256 characters. If you are able to open files up fine, you may want to post the message ( if any) that the users get and we can take it from there.
