Unable to open Sharepoint application document, without run the IE in Administartive mode in windows 7 using Form authentication
Hi,
I have created SharePoint site using MOSS 2007 and using "Form”
Authentication.
I am accessing the
SharePoint
application in Windows 7 environment using IE browser, after successfully logging into site,
when I attempt to open an MS office document from the document library, it pops the document and write the error message on document saying "Unknown
Error".
If I run IE in administrative mode, it opens the document without any problem.
I want to know, is any solution, without running the IE in administrative mode to open the document from SharePoint site in Windows 7?
Regards,
Vidya

Hi Vidya,
Add the site in trusted sites & then check.
Also take a look in

Try to add your site in trusted location in IE.
In IE, Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Add your site as trusted site.
Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Click custom level > Select "Automatically logon in intranet only" in user authentication.
If you still getting error, change the "CallStack = true” and “customErrors=Off” in web.config to get more information on the error

Thank you Pratik and Prasath.
After add the site as trusted site, Document is opening in IE. Thanks for the solution.
But this has to do in every client machine. Has
to do manually in browser.
Is any way to achieve the adding trusted site through programmatically in development environment? Or any alternative method to achieve this in SharePoint.

Vidya

Agreed with Prasath,
You can add above script in Group Policy settings so when user log in to machine it will run the script and add the site in trusted site zone.Warm Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant | http://sharepointpratik.blogspot.com/
