Move a file means what here, how are you doing this? The error it seems there is no Title for document. If you can explain clearly what you are trying to do.......Thanks & Regards, Neerubee

As you see on http://www.eforum.be/sharepoint.jpg, I am trying to move a file within a library. I do this by clicking on the file and then choosing 'move' out of the pop up menu. I am then taken to the move screen (see the screenshot) and when I click on the appropriate folder (in this case test), and then click on the Move folder, I receive the error described above. There is a title for the image. for example dft002.jpg. I hope this answers your question? I don't know what the problem is.

Are you using any tool? You can move documents in document library by using "Send To" option in SharePoint. Thanks & Regards, Neerubee

As Neerubee mentions, if this is a third party app, I'd suggest asking in the vendor forums or checking their literature. I'd also check the properties of each item and make sure that you're not confusing title for filename.http://www.final-exodus.net

Hi Jeroen1221, Additionally, you can go to Site Actions -> Content and Structure to move list items from the source library to the target if they’re within the same site collection. For details about actions which are available in “Content and Structure”, please refer to: Work with site content and structure http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointserver/HA101317231033.aspx Thanks & Regards.Lily Wu

Hi all, Tnx for the feedback. The problem isn't solved though. 1/ The send to option isn't good as it copies a file, it doesn't move it. 2/ I thought I had a workaroud. I -as administror- can use the 'open in windows explorer' option. But an ordinary user isn't able to do this. Do you know how we can solve this? That's a solution as well. 3/We aren't using a tool, it's just windows sharepoint services. (WSS) Thanks for het help :)

Hi neerubee, thanks for the links, but they didn't help. 1/ Explorer view I -as administrator- can go to the explorer view to move files, but another user doesn't have that option within the actions menu (see screenshot: http://www.eforum.be/downloads/wss_01.jpg 2/ Move The move function won't work either. It says their isn't a title, but when i edit/view the properties of the file, i do see the title.. I'm lost..

Hi Jeroen, Users can find explorer view in Views (apart from actions menu). It depends on user permissions whether they are able to see explorer view. And one more thing, Have you tried with Content and structure. Thanks & Regards, Neerubee

as you see on http://www.eforum.be/downloads/wss_02.jpg the user is able to see the view. But when i click on it, i receive an error message (see the same screenshot) Is this normal? I have checked the rights, but don't see where i could change them so that he will be able the see use the explorer view.. I haven't tried Content and structure yet, as i don't see it.
