Unable to install Skype for Business server, missing hotfix

Hi,

Finally I had time to try S4B server installation. But unfortunately it ends into error:

Prerequisite not satisfied: Before you install Skype for Business Server 2015, you must install an update for Windows Server 2012 R2. For details about the update, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2982006, "IIS crashes occasionally when a request is sent to a default document in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2" at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=519376

Ok.. easy...except, the Link on the page: "Hotfix Download is available" leads me to the page saying: "Sorry, the page you requested is not available".

There seems to be some bug in the installation code, as the files listed on the hotfix are already updated on my server.

Any idea how to get this

I think you may missed anything on prerequisite. Please follow - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn933900.aspx

Yes, I believe that is the case, and I also know what is missing as I stated on the original post. The KB2982006 is missing as the installation wizard says.

The problem is, the files are already update by separate update, but also that hotfix is not anymore available.

Hi,

I try to download the hotfix with the link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=519376

So please try to do the following steps below:

1. On Control Panel--System and Security, make sure you have updated to the latest and there are available update in it.

2. Restart the Server.

3. Then test the issue again.

Heh, I still get the error "Sorry, the page you requested is not available".....as long as I was using the Firefox browser! If I test the same using the Internet Explorer, I was able to download the hotfix. Have to try again.

I had the exact same issue.

However after applying ALL updates, and downloading the hotfix from here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2982006/

i was actually able to get everything up and running :)

Best regards

Morten

Hello!

Yes, I think many of us ran into the same thing, and unfortunately the hotfix needed to be applied separately. The download that I went through had me give my email address to have a private link emailed to me for the hotfix. Check out this blog post I wrote detailing the process: http://blog.msucguy.com/2015/05/skype-for-business-server-install-kb2982006.html. Hope that helps!
