Unable to install SQl 2008 R2 Reporting Services Sharepoint 2010 Add-in
I am trying to install the SQL 2008 Reporting Services add-in to MOSS 2010 since it was not installed during the Sharepoint installation. I have followed the steps mentioned in technet http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa905871.aspx. However, I am getting an error when running the rsCustomAction application with admin privileges. Following is the error from the log RS_SP_2: 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Removed file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\40344\App_GlobalResources\ReportServer.zh-TW.resx. 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Removed file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\40344\App_GlobalResources\ReportServer.resx. 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Removing Report Server web.config modifications 2011-01-27 16:25:50: web.config file located at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\web.config 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {00E9A1DA-5347-40ad-B5E9-214F9DE71BF4} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {58382257-B886-4f27-A566-A7BFCD448AA6} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {0772C0F8-7F82-4430-A4C2-D419FBA21EEC} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {C6AB06E7-8010-4E47-80FD-6C02C3F0FE18} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {F460AD0A-93E3-4F57-8B34-43500CD5C421} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {596CD522-3C7E-4694-8E69-7BC7FB95952A} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {5AECAE94-E886-47F9-AAEB-4DB4D8EBAD0E} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {591077DC-EEA5-4770-89B9-C457E82057F6} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {68C8F882-0C21-4190-9C85-EC9672BF8C16} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: web.config file located at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\40344\web.config 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {00E9A1DA-5347-40ad-B5E9-214F9DE71BF4} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {58382257-B886-4f27-A566-A7BFCD448AA6} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {0772C0F8-7F82-4430-A4C2-D419FBA21EEC} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {C6AB06E7-8010-4E47-80FD-6C02C3F0FE18} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {F460AD0A-93E3-4F57-8B34-43500CD5C421} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {596CD522-3C7E-4694-8E69-7BC7FB95952A} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {5AECAE94-E886-47F9-AAEB-4DB4D8EBAD0E} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {591077DC-EEA5-4770-89B9-C457E82057F6} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Modification id = {68C8F882-0C21-4190-9C85-EC9672BF8C16} 2011-01-27 16:25:50: Starting W3SVC service. 2011-01-27 16:25:50: SSRSCustomActionError: An update conflict has occurred, and you must re-try this action. Anyone has any suggestions? Really trying to setup up the reporting services :(

Have you tried following the instructions here? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939308 The article is for SharePoint 2007, but I believe the same approach can be used for SharePoint 2010. Hope that helps.

I don't see the GUID folder under Config. It has two folders, but much like temp folders: c0ab209c545345558b349fea697d5a7d d7d6e850-6b6f-4bba-be14-5ff24de4ac72 They contain a lot of PERSISTEDFILE and XML type files. I have the Sharepoint 2010 Timer running properly as a service right now.
