Unable to import VGA driver into SCCM
Hi guys, I am currently unable to import a required driver for one our netbooks into SCCM. Getting error: Error: Some driver(s) can not be imported successfully. Please see following details. Error: Failed to import the following drivers: \\twcoreutl1\OSD$\MWDRV\ACER255E\VGA_Intel_8.14.10.2117_W7x86_A\VGA_Intel_8.14.10.2117_W7x86\Graphics\igdlh.inf - The selected driver is not applicable to any supported platforms.\ This is weird because it is a Windows 7 driver download and we have Windows 7 images. So not too sure what checks this wizard is performing to give me this message? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies. I will check to see if we have these hotfixes and get back to you Regards

You could also skip the import part, and just create a driver package that point directly to your source files.. In that way you do not have to worry about weather SCCM likes the driver or not, and your driver node is going to look a lot less messy!Michael Petersen http://blog.coretech.dk/mip/

Hi Jason, had a look. We are running 2007 R2. I dont think this hotfix is included in 2007 R2 and I cant see this installed on our site server. I have a lab environment running SCCM 2007 R3. I did not get this issue when importing this exact driver into this environment. Going forward we are going to have R3 on our live environment but have a couple of other things to look at first before this happens. Thanks once again for your help

Note that R2 and R3 are not really versions of ConfigMgr in technical terms. R2 and R3 are licensing options/versions that don't equate to the technical version of the product. Technical (major) versions are RTM, SP1, and SP2.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Thanks Jason, in that case it doesnt explain my issue with driver import. I would try this hotfix however IT manager is a bit reluctant to do so. In both lab environment and live environment I have version 4.00.6487.2000 which looks to be SP2?

Yes, that is SP2. Tell IT manager hotfixes are meant to be installed for a reason, because there is a known issue. Hotfixes are very limited in what what changes they make.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
