I have created reported in BIDS 2008 now whe I deply on my reporting server which is on 2005 it is not deploying gives below error message. invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded. (rsInvalidReportDefinition) Can we convert 2008 RDL file into 2005 RDL file?

Hi Udai, Unfortunately, BIDS 2008 is not backward compatible with Report Server 2005, and RDL2008 cannot be downgraded to RDL2005. Is using BIDS 2005 an option for you? Note that BIDS 2005 and BIDS 2008 can be installed side-by-side on the same machine in case you need BIDS 2008 for other work. If you need the install file for BIDS 2005, it is included in the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Toolkit downloadable (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3C856B93-369F-4C6F-9357-C35384179543&displaylang=en).
