Hi LmengS,
Based on the problem description, the issue you are experiencing is: after you export a report to a file which will be opened by
Excel, you find that the column header names are the textbox name of the report. If I have misunderstood your concern and your question has nothing to do with reporting services, please transfer your case to the right forum.
As we might know, we can export a report to either CSV or Excel file, so that we can open it with Excel. I made a test with both
files.
1.
Start SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, create a report with two columns. One is called
Hire Date, while just leave the other column name as null.
2.
Export it as CSV. When opening the CSV file, we can see that CSV takes the text box name as the header name for the second column by default.
3.
Export it as Excel. When opening the Excel file, we can see that the excel file display the column as null as it in the report.
So I infer that, you might have export the report as a CSV file. If not, and you still cannot dislay it correctly in excel file with
the test steps above,
could you please post your .rdl files to our data collection E-mail address for further assistance?
