Unable to discover resources in another forest with a two way trust
Hi guys, We have 2 forests that have a two way trust between them and DNS conditional forwarders set up. In one Forest we have a tree domain that contains all of our SCOM 2007 R2 servers. We are trying to monitor resources in the other forest. I can get as far as browsing the other forest / domain and selecting the server i would like to discover, yet when i click next and chose the account i want to use and hit discover, it fails and mentions making sure i have the correct permissions assigned. I have aservice account called SERVSCOM which is domain admin in my tree domain. I have added this account to a group, which is a member of a group in the forest root. The group on the forest root domain is a member of the built in admins on the other forest. Therefore i think i have permissions. Im pretty sure i dont need a SCOM gateway server set up from what i have read - can anyone confirm this? also if someone could explain exactly what permissions i need to monitor a machine in another domain that would be great.
