Unable to connect to SSRS 2005
Hi Sir/Mam, I am not able to login to SSRS. I have tried to login into the Reporting services from reporting Configuration Manager to end up in the error "The Unknown error has occured in the WMI Provider. Error code 80070008". In hte Event Viewer an Event of Type Error, Source Rep Services(MSSQL) and ID 107 is logged with msg "Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database." I also tried to login using SS Management Studio it gives the error "The operation could not be completed. (WinMgmt)" and it details as "Program Location: at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo) at System.Management.ManagementObjectCollection.ManagementObjectEnumerator.MoveNext() at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient.RSConnectionInfo.ParseServerName(String serverName) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient.RSConnectionInfo.RSTypeImpl.CreateSqlOlapConnectionInfoBase(UIConnectionInfo ci) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient.RSConnectionInfo.RSTypeImpl.GetConnectionObject(UIConnectionInfo ci) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.ConnectionDlg.RSType.GetConnectionObject(UIConnectionInfo ci) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.VSIntegration.ObjectExplorer.ObjectExplorer.ValidateConnection(UIConnectionInfo ci, IServerType server) at Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.ConnectionDlg.Connector.ConnectionThreadUser()" and the same event is logged in the Event Viewer. So I tried to check the instances of SSRS using the wbemtest(using http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd353297%28SQL.90%29.aspx) and gave me the error "Number: 0x80070008 Facility: Win32 Description: Not enough storage is available to process this command" Also I notice that the SSRS is not being shown in the SQL Configuration Manager and the Surface configuration as well. OS : WIN Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2 SQL SErver 2005 Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.1399.00 I expect the Memory limit to be changed in the rsreportserverconfig but I am afraid. Please guide me to a solution Thanks and Regards, Saideep

Hi, By default, Management Studio uses the Reporting Services Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider to establish a connection to the report server. Based on the error messages, I think the WMI provider is not installed correctly. I recommend that you run Setup to repair Reporting Services, or reinstall Reporting Services. For more information about WMI error when connecting to a report server in Management Studio, please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156468.aspx Thanks, Ai-Hua QiuAi-hua Qiu[MSFT] MSDN Community Support | Feedback to us Get or Request Code Sample from Microsoft Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
