Unable to add App URL for black-/whitelisting.

Hi,

When I want do add an app within the Intune management console for black- or whitelisting i get the following error:
Invalid App URL
Verify that the App URL you specified is a valid URL from the app store, then try again.

I've tested the following App URL:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/games/pixel-gun-3d/9wzdncrdzvbf

I've already a couple of apps in the list but they all start with:
http://www.windowsphone.com/...

But WhatsApp for example works with the new link but OneNote does not either:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/onenote/9wzdncrfhvjl

Any hints?

Best Regards,

Sebastian

Hi Blain,

Thanks for the fast response but the article you mentioned leads to a quite different topic (Protect data using mobile application management policies with Microsoft Intune).

In my case I want to block/allow store apps to be downloaded from the store or if they are already installed to block them from starting.

But now, for some reason, some URLs from the store can be used and some can't.
For Example the Store URL for Whatsapp (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/onenote/9wzdncrfhvjl) Works well but the store URL for the Game "Pixel Gun 3d" (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/games/pixel-gun-3d/9wzdncrdzvbf) does not and Leads to the error mentioned above.

Best regards,
Sebastian

This is a known issue. It has been solved with a Cumulative Update for those using ConfigMgr/Intune

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3081699

I don't know what the solution is for standalone Intune. If this is not working you should create a MS support request. They would like to hear about this kind of behaviour.

Create an online support request

or call Microsoft CSS. Find your local number for Intune support here
