Unable to Install Reporting Point on Windows Server 2008
Hi, Today we have problem in installing reporting point on windows server 2008. We found there is no error but the installation is never finished as stated in rsetup.log: Executing: ReportingInstall /s /m=K:\SCCM\bin\i386\rep.val We have waited for 30 minutes but the installation is not finished. Then we try to execute the ReportingInstall /s /m=K:\SCCM\bin\i386\rep.val in command prompt and it successed within 1 minute. Any idea or anything I miss in the configuration? Boteasy.

Hi, Check also SMSReportingInstall.log ? The MP is it installed and has no problem ? Also, what about UAC, is it enabled ? if so, disable it.

It may related to the permission issue. If you encounter same issue next time, please check: 1. Please refer to the following document to check the configuration manager account security. Checklist for Configuration Manager Account Security http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680604.aspx 2. Please refer to the following document to check the settings for Window Server 2008 for site systems. How to Configure Windows Server 2008 for Site Systems http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc431377.aspx 3. Please help us to check the symantic settings in this SCCM server, is it the same as other domain computers? 4. Please install the Fallback Status Point in the SCCM console , to see if it also hangs. Hope it helps. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
