Unable to Deploy Report - Authentication problem
Hi All, Iam using SSRS 2008 with a named Instance. My SSRS Named Instance's Reporting Service service is running under the administrator account.. Iam able t o log to the ReportManager using Internet explorer and Google chrome (seems both have Windows authentication feature ON). Below are the 2 problems that I have been facing with. 1) Unable to deploy the report. I have been getting prompted with a "Reporting Services Login" box.. --> In the case (1) above, even if I provide valid credentials (windows administrator credentials using which i logged into the machine) iam unable to deploy..Iam seeing the same "Reporting Services Login" box.. again and again... 2) Iam not able to log to ReportManager using Firefox..a similar problem like (1) above.. getteing the login box..but not able to move further... Kindly Help... Thanks, PrawinPrawin

Also, I have been using the "administrator" account (using which I logged into the system and the Reporting service service is running...) as the "Service Account" in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager... PrawinPrawin

Prawin, try openning your browser by doing "Run as" and next your will be asked to end credentials, enter your admin creditional and now try to deploy your report. Please let us know your feedback. Thanks Regards, KumarKG, MCTS

Try the below steps : Method 1: Specify host names (Preferred method if NTLM authentication is desired) To specify the host names that are mapped to the loopback address and can connect to Web sites on your computer, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0 Right-click MSV1_0, point to New, and then click Multi-String Value. Type BackConnectionHostNames, and then press ENTER. Right-click BackConnectionHostNames, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type the host name or the host names for the sites that are on the local computer, and then click OK. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the IISAdmin service. Method 2: Disable the loopback check (less-recommended method) The second method is to disable the loopback check by setting the DisableLoopbackCheck registry key. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER. Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.

Pravin try the steps I mentioned, it is a known issue with backconnectionhostnames. but if it has worked with IE then it could be a browser issue with firefox etc.
