Hi, I need to create a new web site in Internet Information Service. This can be done by opening IIS manager. In IIS Manager, expand the local computer, right-click the Web Sites folder, point to New, and then click Web Site. The Web Site Creation Wizard appears. But if iright click the Web Site Folder. only Properties and Refresh option is showing.New option is not shown. I will appreciate if any one give solution to solve this problem. I am using Windows XP with SP2. Thank you

The IIS admin GUI in XP does not allow you to create multiple web sites.

So, what is the solution? If XP doesn't allow the GUI, is there anyway to do it from command prompt? if there is, then what?

I'm not sure if this is a licensing restriction in XP, or just something they removed from the interface. Perhaps a MSFT person could comment on it.

There's a free tool XP PRO IIS Admin that allows you to create a new website and manage the sites. It will thereafter show up in IIS manager. http://www.jetstat.com/iisadmin/

IIS 5.1, and all IIS installation on workstation operating systems like XP Pro, allow only a single web site.
