Hello all, I'm getting error 00002004 when requesting user state storage. Everywhere I go on Google, I get a solution such as this: http://www.itechiez.com/sccm-2007/request-user-state-storage-error-0%C3%9700002004/ The problem is, none of my machines have that update installed. I install the hotfix anyway, but it still doesn't work. I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary in the logs (I am a SCCM noob), but I know yinz will probably want to see them, so just let me know which ones you want me to post.

I applied ccmcertfix (KB977203), but 1. the error that should be in ccmexec.log for that fix to work is not present, and 2. it doesn't work (surprise). I'm basing that off of this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977203 I did apply the hotfix as directed on that site, though this is not a new client build, it is an old install of win7 professional that I'm migrating to win7 enterprise.

Hi, Was the Windows 7 SP1 installed? If so, KB974571 is included in Win7 SP1. Also, I agree with Niall. The CCMCertFix.exe utility from KB977203 needs to be run on the client PC BEFORE the Task Sequence is started. Running CCMCertFix.exe utility on the client PC will fix the ConfigMgr 2007 client certificates and will allow the certificates to migrate over to the new Windows OS successfully. I'm trying it on another computer now. Yes, I did. ccmcertfix.log says it fixed 1 of 2 certificates. I'm going to work on what Raffuk suggested.
