URL Monitoring and subscription alerts
Having an alerting/subscription issue. e.g. Set up a URL monitor Watcher Node to watch two different Websites. These Websites relate to two different support groups. Unfortunately if either website goes down, then BOTH support groups receive alerts. Not good. The particular common Watcher Node is not included as a Computer to be alerted on for either Support Group, yet somehow they both receive the alerts. Can someone pls explain the mechanism for sending alerts in the above situation? Is there a simple way to get around the alerts going to the "second" group of users? Thx, John Bradshaw

First of all it sounds like one or more of your existing subscriptions is wrong if they are receiving notifications for objects that you have no idea how it's happening. Review your existing subscriptions. Second, to satisfy your requirement I would simply create explicit subscriptions for the respective website monitors that you care about. It's fairly simple You can perform this in one of two ways. go to your Active or Closed alerts view and generate a new subscription from the Actions pane using the Create link in the subscriptions sub section of the actions pane. Or go to subscriptions in the administration pane, and create as many new subscriptions as you need. In the criteria section select "created by specific rules or monitor" and then search for and select those monitors.

Thx Jon I just found the problem....Somehow subgroups populated my primary groups and have caused the issue. Sorry to waste your time. JB
