Typ Symbol in a List View doenst link to an Element
Hello dear reder, we migrate our SharePointfarm from 2007 to 2010. We dont want to scare our colleagues, that is why we use furthermore the old design of 2007. The problem ist that the document symbol in the "Type" column in a list view of a list doesnt link to the according element. It doesnt link at all. But the discription of that column says "with document linked symbol". It exist a fix for the same problem in listviews of document libraries, but it doesnt work with a normal list. Source: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-US;2457975 Please help me. My colleagues are really angry because they have a lot of lists in which they navigate with that symbol, because the titel doenst matters and they are unready to use the new design. Is there a solution like it is for libraries? Plz help me o.o

Hi Rahniez, It is by design that the type icon doesn’t link to the document in SharePoint 2010 ( here ), the KB 2457975 as workaround gets the function back, but only for the doc library the type icon can launch the document. The list item type icon is pointing to the item itself, so you can use the Title column instead if it is convenient for you. Or you can create a rich text column and update the value with constructed item URL using workflow dynamic strings, and the style is like this article, URL format like http://server/site/list/DisplayForm.aspx?ID=2, the id is current item id. Thanks Regards, Daniel
