We have 2 forests, each with child domains.  The forests have a transitive trust established (two way).  My understanding from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262051.aspx

All domains and forests with a two-way trust relationship are available without any additional configuration steps.

When we use people picker we only see the users from the domain the sharepoint farm is installed in.  Any ideas?

2 other pieces of info....  SharePoint 2013 and 2008R2 AD.  I downloaded the peoplepicker tool from codeplex and from the farm front end I can do LDAP queries to the other forest with the same apppool account.
