Hi, Report builder (2.0 or 3.0) is tool whcih can be used for creeating embadded reports, as well as it can be used to create ad-hoc reports using model. But, it gioves almost all the functionalities of BIDS designer. If you want to start using it, you can look at below free online training by microsoft.
