Trying to delete an Hidden folder (ie7 from %Windir% using Task Sequence.
Hi Team, I am trying to delete a folder C:\windows\ie7 "Where ie7 is a hidden folder" I am upgrading to IE 8 for some work stations using SCCM however once the install for IE8 completes the folder for Ie7 and its contents still exist and it keeps reporting in the report for machines that have IE7 and IE8 so the report shows us that machines have IE7 and IE* installed parallely. Even using Resource Explorer also shows up IE7 under Add Remove Programs. So i was wondering the best way to get rid off this would be the ie7 folder Can any one help me because i tried running del commands using /S /Q /F but that does not seem to work remotely as it says it could not find the file specified. Please let me know your thoughts

Deleting that folder isn't going to remove IE7 from ARP so i don't think that's going to help you. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

After the upgrade to IE8, look specifically on the computer to see if IE7 still exists. Look at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer to confirm that you're using IE8. The reports that you're looking at and the Resource Explorer view are dependant on the last inventory that the client reported. Try invoking a Hardware Inventory action from the client, then give it a few minutes to process and try Resource Explorer (or the report) again.
