Troubleshooting updates installation

Hi,

I created Automatic deployment rule for some servers updates. (SCCM 2012R2, all servers W2012R2)

All status looks good, but updates wont install (Rule - success, Deployment package - created, Software group - created, Device collection - compliance 0%)

Software Center don't shows any available software

Where I have to look for problems ?

Is there at least one member in that collection? How is the policy polling interval configured? Is the site and all site systems healthy? Are other things (e.g. software distribution) working fine?

Also in auto-deployment rule properties:
1) In the "Deployment Schedule" tab check when is the deadline set. Updates will install only after deadline. Also check in the same tab when updates become available;

2) If You don't see updates in Software Center, then it could be that they are not available yet and also check the User Expierience tab, set "User Notifications" so that updates appear in Software Center;

Collection has 3 members

Policy polling interval - default 60min

One site role has critical status - SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER

Deployment schedule - as soon as possible

User notifications - display all

In client updatesdeployment.log - total actionable updates = 0

- MP could not write out CCM setting to WMI. The operating system reported error 19: The media is write protected.

- SMS Executive detected that this component stopped unexpectedly.
Possible cause: The component is experiencing a severe problem that caused it to stop unexpectedly.
Solution: Refer to your ConfigMgr Documentation or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.

Hi,

Have you tried to manually retrieve machine policy from the client? Check PolicyAgent.log.

Check locationservices.log and CcmMessageing.log to see if the client can coummunicate with MP.

Hi,

I tried manually run actions from CM properties on client - no results

- PplicyAgent.log and CcmMessageing.log - no errors

locationservices.log - interesting things:

1 internet MP errors in the last 10 minutes, threshold is 5.

2 internet MP errors in the last 10 minutes, threshold is 5.

...

Internet MP error threshold reached, moving to next MP.
