I have recently been recieving the following alert from SCE. Alert: Updates Install Source: WSUS Path: servername Last modified by: System Last modified time: 4/15/2011 8:12:11 AM I can see that the source is WSUS so the alert is being generated by a "server issue", however what are the troubleshooting steps to resolve the alert? Is the issue with WSUS not downloading updates, or is the issue with a client not installing updates from the WSUS instance. Where is a good place to start reviewing? There is a similar posting on the forum, however no clear resolution was given.

Yog Li, There was no error description for the alert message, just what I had included. I cannot pin down a particular event that would have caused the alert message. I do have the following showing in the application log at the same time as the alert. Client computers are installing updates with a higher than 10 percent failure rate. This should be monitored. Is the alert just telling me that updates are failing on more than 10% of monitored machines?

Hi, This alert sounds like a single update is failing. We can look at the windowsupdate.log or client status in the console to perticular update failing.Ketan Thakkar | Microsoft Online Community Support
