Has anyone else had this issue? I am deploying a sysprep'd & captured HP Windows 7 Embedded Standard image through SCCM. As part of the deployment task sequence I set the OSDCOmputerName Variable to be be the SMBIOSAssetTag value...this works great on normal systems running W7 Enterprise yet on the HP Thin Clients with WES the computer name is not retained (despite all logs stating the computer name is the AssetTag). Once built the system name is something like - HP-123344FRHE - I suspect this a registry key somewhere changing the name, can anyone confirm my suspicions? I hope this makes sense. . Resolved.... There were HP unattend files in the panther and sysprep folders which were causing the problem. Once removed the image deploys and names the system correctly as the asset tag. Richard.
