Hi, I have installed few virtual machines with and one of them is with the Evaluation version of Window Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. I have installed trial version of SQL Server 2008, Trial Version of Sharepoint 2010 Server and designer. I was prompt to install Sharepoint Foundation before i use sharepoint designer and i think it is free for window server 2008 but it is asking me for the product key but i could not even found the trial key of it anywhere. Can anyone help with any recommendations please as i am a newbie and i wanted to learn sharepoint thats why i thought to give it a try on virtual machine. SharePoint Foundation 2010 doesn't prompt for a product key, so it's likely what you have is not SharePoint Foundation 2010. The SharePoint Server 2010 trial does require product keys and they are listed on the SharePoint Server 2010 Trial download page. I don't recall SharePoint Designer prompting to install SharePoint Foundation. Could you perhaps post a screenshot or copy the message you are seeing?
