Total page number is always just 1 in BI Preview
Hi, I'm having the same problem here. I build my report in BI, .net 3.5, and at first it was showing correct total page number in the Preview tab on the top left of the preview content page. I played around with margins, set table's property 'Keep together' = true.... And now, it doesn't matter how many pages my report generates in only shows total page number as 1. I can scroll down and see all the rows but they're not broken up into pages. I then deployed the report to the report server and the same problem there when I select to 'View Report'. The true and correct total page number only shows up when I select Preview in the Print dialog and it's also correct when I actually prints out the report. Is this a know bug or is there a way to correct this? Thank you. Alpha Davis

Hi Alpha Davis, This is not a know bug, Keeptogether property is utilized to indicate whether to keep all sections of the data region together on one page. If you set this value to True, this is just what you get. When you print the report, the content could not print on one whole page, it will divide into several pages, this is sensible as well. If you don't want to display the page number, of course you could delete it on the report footer. Thanks, Challen Fu

Hi, I did toggle the 'Keep together' property of the table(Originally, I thought it might be the setting for keeping all columns on one page ) but that didn't change the total page number in the preview tab in BI. Today, It did change to 15 pages but when click to print it indicates there is a total of 26 pages. There is still a dicprepency even when the 'Keep together' property is set to false. Hi Alpha Davis, This issue is relevant to the Pagination. Actually, even if you have set the report body width, it can grow or shrink to accommodate the report items contained within it. The report body does not reflect the physical page size; in fact, the report body can grow beyond the boundaries of the physical page size to span multiple report pages. So please make sure that the width of the report body, including margins, is not larger than the physical page size width. Steps: Select menu Report --> Report Properties --> Layout; Set "Page Width" to be more than the table width For more information about Pagination, please click this link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb677374(v=SQL.100).aspx Regards, Challen Fu

Yes, unsdertand that but my page is printing within the physical boundary (meaning that 1 page is not printed out broken to 2 pages) and I also set the KeepTogether to be false for the table in the repot. But still, the total page in the preview tab is still less than what's been printed out. Why is that so? Thank you.Lapucca
