Top N Conditional Formating in SSRS as in Excel
can someone help I need to change the baclground color of a field Based on wether it the number falls into the top 10 percent or the bottom 10 percent of a group of numbers. It is pretty easy to do in excel utilizing the field conditional formating. I expect to put some code into the Field Properties Fill function. I can change the field color conditionally but I don't know how to do the Top N part. any advice would be appreciated. Guy

Hi, The formula you use to calculate the top 10 important in deciding how you should set the expression to set the background color. Are the records sorted by the field that you use to find the top and bottom 10? Please share more information so that someone could help precisely. thanks Please click "Mark as Answer" if this resolves your problem or "Vote as Helpful" if you find it helpful. BH

Hi Bikendive, You could add another column to mark the top10 or bottom10, such as indicator column, all the top10 record's value is 1, all the bottom 10 records' value is 2, other records' value is 0, then in the report level you could control row's background's color based on the indicator's value.
