Yes you can map your document library as a network drive on the client PC, From where the end user will have access to folders in the sharePoint document library directly, They will be able to upload documents directly using windows explorer. The only limitation is that they will not be able to set metadata of the document. If you are looking for any third party tools in this space you might want to consider filemanager from colligo http://www.colligo.com/products/sharepoint/colligo-contributor-file-manager/
