Timed out waiting for ccmexec service
I'm doing side by side replacements right now, and I've got a few computers throwing up the following errors and failing to restore the user state: Succeeded loading resource DLL 'C:\Windows\system32\CCM\1033\TSRES.DLL' TSManager 7/28/2011 5:16:34 PM 2356 (0x0934) Timed out waiting for ccmexec service to be fully operational TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) 0, HRESULT=80004005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\framework\tscore\utils.cpp,4192) TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) Failed to wait for Ccmexec service to be fully operational (0x80004005) TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) hr = TS::Utility::WaitForCcmExec(g_hShutdownEvent), HRESULT=80004005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\client\tasksequence\tsmanager\tsmanager.cpp,887) TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) Task Sequence Manager could not pause SMS components. code 80004005 TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) hr = PauseSMSComponents(bReleaseLauncher), HRESULT=80004005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\client\tasksequence\tsmanager\tsmanager.cpp,1221) TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) Task Sequence Manager could not initialize Task Sequence Environment. code 80004005 TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) hr = InitializeEnvironment(), HRESULT=80004005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\client\tasksequence\tsmanager\tsmanager.cpp,734) TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) Task sequence execution failed with error code 80004005 TSManager 7/28/2011 5:47:00 PM 2356 (0x0934) I've seen some other users with this error that say to create a ConfigMgr Remote Control Users group in active directory in order to make the error go away (Basically it looks for the group locally, can't find it, then looks in AD and times out before it figures out that it doesn't exist) I've created the group but it's still throwing the error. Is there a specific place to create the group that will make it work? This one has me stumped, so thank you for any suggestions.

Please see if the following hotfix can resolve this issue. User state migration is unsuccessful on a SCCM 2007 SP1 client or on a SCCM 2007 SP2 client after you install security update 974571 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977203 Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, the post you mentioned is this one: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrosd/thread/4170fdd4-462d-41b4-9cd9-14466ec70cda/ It mentions: The simple solution is to create an AD group named "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users". It doesn't need to have any members, it just needs to exist. In my environment the AD group named "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users" is found in the Users container. Normally it is automatically created. My ConfigMgr blog: http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.com Follow me on Twitter: @henkhoogendoorn
