I migrated a SP2010 site to SP2013 farm. After performed the upgrade, everything is fine but we found a picture library view is not work as expected.

In SP2010 farm, the view have a "Thumbnail" column and shows the shrinked version of pictures. After migrate, the view show up same as old one beside the "Thumbnail" column shows nothing. It is just a blank column.

As a test I create a blank new picture library app, the defautl "Thumbnail" view (.../Forms/Thumbnails.aspx) shows shrinked pictures in boxes. However, when I create a new view, added "Thumbnail" column, nothing show up.

I tested by directly browse the thumbnail path like http://<site url>/PictLib/_t/Chrysanthemum_jpg.jpg. The thumbnail show up!

I checked the Timer job "Upgrade work item" (Processes deferred upgrade work items which were generated during an upgrade. For example, generating thumbnails for upgraded image libraries.) was running daily and last run time is some hours before and the thumbnails still not show.

What else I can check? Many thanks.

Thanks sk2014. I have checked the thread already. In "all picture" view the thumbnail also not work. I have tried apply differnt Master pages (including oslo and settle) thumbnail still not working.

By using IE8's developer tool I found the blank column have an image element like this one:

Hi Mark,

As I understand,  you migrated from SharePoint 2010 to 2013, the issue occurs to picture library. Thumbnail view not showing pictures while the shrinked version picture exists.

Could you create another view from existing thumbnail view and see if it works?

Could you find any error message in ULS log per timestamp?

Could you test the issue on other machine and see if it occurs?

I ran into the same issue and wondering whether you ever found a solution to this problem or not. Appreciate any feedback!

Interestingly I found in the same farm - in another site collection I can add the 'Preview' field to the view and it then shows both "Thumbnail Preview" image and "Preview" image. But as soon as remove the 'preview' column from the view Thumbnail preview also disappear.

To Rebecca's suggestion - recreating view does not resolve the issue and also it's not machine related. 

Any suggestion anyone?
