The version of sysprep is incompatible with the current operating system. Ensure that the correct version is available on the local machine
I am getting "The version of sysprep is incompatible with the current operating system. Ensure that the correct version is available on the local machine" when runing sysprep After installing Windows 7 SP1. The sysprep CD is created from SCCM task sequence. I try copying different sysprep folder to c:\windows and sysWOW or system32 with no luck.

Sorry, but you have posted your question in a forum that talk about Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF), then I am moving your post to another forum and I hope you can get some help. But if you want you can try to find other forum by yourself: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ Hope that helps Regards, Cleber Marques Microsoft MVP & MCT | Charter Member: SCVMM & MDOP MOF Brazil Project: Simplifying IT Service Management My Blog | MOF.com.br | CleberMarques.com | CanalSystemCenter.com.br

Hi, which version of SCCM are you using? SP2? It is required for deploying Windows 7. Sysprep is builtin the operating system so it should not be a problem. Reagrds, Jörgen-- My System center blog ccmexec.com --

Jorgen's last line there is key: sysprep is built into Windows 7 so there is no need to add anything when syspreping a Windows 7 system and unlike XP, the unattend.xml file serves no purpose during the sysprep process itself.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Hi, have you created a new Sysprep package from content media of Windows 7 SP1? That way it must be working. SCCM with SP2 is still needed for Windows 7 support. This was also happen with MS Vista installation: Vista with SP2 Capture Fails At Sysprep: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrosd/thread/4072615e-0c6b-484c-8d01-3605de0a6843/ Where is Sysprep for Windows 7 SP1? http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Windows/Windows_7/Q_26831802.html You can find it installed here with every install: C:\Windows\System32\sysprep My ConfigMgr blog: http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.com Follow me on Twitter: @henkhoogendoorn

I second Jason's (and Jörgen's) statement: no need to create any sysprep package manually. Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de You're right about that. With Windows 7 there's no need to create a sysprep package yourself. Unless the eror message stays, then delete any older sysprep package using or create a new one.My ConfigMgr blog: http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.com Follow me on Twitter: @henkhoogendoorn
