Hi Mandat, Based on your description, I would like to provide following points: 1. Please make sure SRS is only owned by SCE 2007 and installed locally. 2. Please ensure SRS is not using SSL. 3. Please ensure SQL Server Reporting Services is running. 4. Please check the IIS setting is proper. 5. Please make sure the first part of FQND is identical to the DNS NetBIOS name and refer to the following article KB: 937831 The installation of System Center Essentials 2007 fails during the Reporting part of Setup and the following information is logged: "The specified domain does not exist or cannot be contacted" http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;937831 If the problem is still exist, please send the SCEsetupx.log, SCEReportingx.log(under %temp%) to SCEDATA@microsoft.com and copy following information in the email body: The selected SQL Reporting Server instance is not configured http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?postid=1958455&siteid=17 Jie-Feng Ren MSFT Please post a quick note in the current thread after sending the email. It took me 8 hours of work to get past this problem. The problem is caused by TLS/SSL in IIS configuration. Somewhat SCE try to check RS directories via https, and it fails. In setup log we could see folowing lines: 1:22 AM: DiscoverSRSInstanceInformation: Actual SRS reg location is: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\Setup1:22 AM: CheckHttpAddressResponse: WebException Raised. The following error occured : The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.1:22 AM: StackTrace: at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.SCE.Setup.SrsHelper.CheckHttpAddressResponse(String httpSite) When we try to remove the certificate from IIS site, we could encounterthis error: 1:29 AM: CheckHttpAddressResponse: WebException Raised. The following error occurred : The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.1:29 AM: StackTrace: at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() The solution is to generate certificatesuch that we could access https://host/Reports, instead of https://host.fqdn.com/reportswithout errors, or just installing SCE on clean windows installation.

I was encoutering the same problem than Pietrzak_peki, I created a certificate pointing on netbios name and restarted the wizard and I was able to pass the step.
