The resource object with classname 'Microsoft.Office.Server.Search' and key 'FSAdmin_KeywordDetails_BreadCrumb ' was not found.

I am getting the following error while trying to add a keyword to search using the /_layouts/AddKeyword.aspx page from within a normal SharePoint site. I am using FAST Search, the WFE is on a different box to FAST.

System.InvalidOperationException: The resource object with classname 'Microsoft.Office.Server.Search' and key 'FSAdmin_KeywordDetails_BreadCrumb' was not found.

The stack trace is as follows:

[InvalidOperationException: The resource object with classname 'Microsoft.Office.Server.Search' and key 'FSAdmin_KeywordDetails_BreadCrumb' was not found.] System.Web.SiteMapNode.GetExplicitResourceString(String attributeName, String defaultValue, Boolean throwIfNotFound) +4066648 System.Web.SiteMapNode.get_Title() +71 System.Web.SiteMapNode.Clone() +183 Microsoft.SharePoint.Navigation.SPXmlContentMapProvider.GetParentNode(SiteMapNode node) +934 Microsoft.SharePoint.Navigation.SPCachedNavigation.GetCurrentNodeByUrl(SiteMapProvider provider, String url) +1795 Microsoft.SharePoint.SPContext.GetCurrentNode(SiteMapProvider provider, SPWeb navigationWeb) +81 Microsoft.SharePoint.Navigation.SPNavigationProvider.get_CurrentNode() +93 System.Web.UI.WebControls.Menu.DataBindItem(MenuItem item) +239 System.Web.UI.WebControls.Menu.PerformDataBinding() +49 System.Web.UI.WebControls.HierarchicalDataBoundControl.PerformSelect() +114 System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.EnsureDataBound() +82 System.Web.UI.WebControls.Menu.EnsureDataBound() +38 Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.AspMenu.OnPreRender(EventArgs e) +176 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +108 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +224 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +224 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +224 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +224 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +224 System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() +224 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +3394

Is anyone else having the same problem. At first I thought the resource string wasn't specified for en-AU, but I changed the regional settings to English (United States) and still encountered the same problem.

Hi,

Are there customizations in place for search features?

Where are you adding keywords for search?

-using the site settings -> site collection administration-> Search Keywords? Or FAST Search Keywords?

When does the error message occur? At what point?

When clicking to Ok after entering Keyword information?

Detail the steps taken to get to the listed error message

to add search keyword to a site from site settings brings up the http://servername/_layouts/Keyword.aspx for out of the box SharePoint site

Another option is to use the managed metadata service application and specify new keyword in term store management tool

Central Administration  -> Application Management  -> Manage service applications -> Managed Metadata Service -> Term Store Management Tool

I am running into the same issue when trying to administer FAST.

The error occurs when I click 'Site Actions' > 'Site Settings' > under 'Site Collection Administration', 'FAST Search site promotion and demotion'.

Unexpected System.InvalidOperationException: The resource object with classname 'Microsoft.Office.Server.Search' and key 'FSAdmin_KeywordDetails_BreadCrumb' was not found.

Me three...

This happens for the Site Promotion/Demotion and Add User Context links as well. Always seems to have to do with a Breadcrumb "resource".

I am having the same problems and can't seem to get it to work.

Would be nice to know if there is any solution to it?

I could be wrong (because it was a while ago), but some of the CA/FAST errors that I was getting were a result of permissions not being set. I believe it was something like the app pool identity had to have access to the FAST Administration web service. Googling that might yeild some insights.

I ran into the issue as well.

System.InvalidOperationException: The resource object with classname 'Microsoft.Office.Server.Search' and key 'FSAdmin_KeywordDetails_BreadCrumb' was not found.

However, only some sites were impacted on my farm.  This error seemed to occur on sites that did not have the "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" Feature activated.

Activating the feature resolved the issue.
