The page cannot be displayed
G'day friends I am having a problem accessing sharepoint 2007 site, All were working fine, But suddenly it happened, When i try to open any sharepoint site, it gives me an error in browser "The page cannot be displayed" In firefox, it redirects me to google search or says, "Server not found". According to me that means the DNS is not recognizing the site name on port 80 properly. I tried creating sites on different ports and gave the port number along with site name in browser, but still no luck. I tried Disabling the IE friendly error but still no success after that. I can access the Central Administration but not any site, Even unable to access SSP, Please help Kind RegardsSharePoint (administration/Development) Asp.net C# SQL Server

Hi, This error message is a little bit general for troubleshooting as there are several possible causes for this issue. What patch level of MOSS 2007 are you at? If you have yet to install MOSS 2007 SP2, please upgrade and run the configuration wizard to see the result. Additionally, you can check the event viewer and ULS logs to narrow down this issue. Hope it helps. Thanks & Regards.Lily Wu

Agree with Lily Wu response. You need to provide more details. Such behavior is not possible without any change in your environment. Is there any Server/IP/DNS changed in your Network? Have you tried accessing the site directly from Server PC.Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter | Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

That was what i thought guys, So i tried to get the root of error but failed in all tests. Some thing was really wrong with DNS etc, So i decided to re-install windows server on my local system and i did that, MOSS is working fine now. Thank you guys. cheers SharePoint 2007 (Administration/Development) Web developer and .NET DTS Programmer .NET Framework 2.0/3.5 SQL Server 2008/2005/2k
