The documents are check out when uploading using drag and drop in all libraries of the site.

Hello,

I am having a problem with one site of my SharePoint. From since time ago, I don't know why, but when I upload a document using drag and drop the document is uploaded with status "check out", this happen in all new libraries in the same site and subsites. In other sites of my SharePoint farm I don't have this problem. It's really strange because if you create a new library in the same site or subsites you always have the problem.

I have checked that the library doesn't have any required field and also I have checked that this option in versioning settings is no.

Any ideas??

Thank you in advance.

Hi Atenko,

Based on you description, I have done a test in my SharePoint 2013 and tried to reproduce the issue. Please check the columns of the library. If there is a column configured to be required and the required column is empty, then the document will be checked out when you upload it using drag and drop.

Hope it helpful.

Hello,

Thanks for your answer, I checked all colums and all of them are ok, (without any required field). Then I have been checking site content types, and I descovered that if I delete the content type (document in this case) I can upload documents directly in "check in". but when I select some content type, documents upload "check out" again.

On the other hand I descovered  that If I create a new library in the same site or subsites I have the same problem. I have the problem with all kind of documents..

Any idea to solve it?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Please check whether the content type contains required columns.

Make all columns in the library optional and not require content approval.
