The Workflow Lookups help file is missing - 0bc09854-5a25-4658-9ebc-3b55168e11 c4.htm
Does anyone have this file? Are anybody else able to se this Workflow Lookups help file? If you see the E-mail templates help file, there is a section where it says; Subject – The subject of the e-mail. This field supports Workflow Lookup variables, for example “Your request regarding [//Target/DisplayName] has been denied.” For more information see Workflow Lookups. If i click that link, i'm told that the file is not there... I've looked in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\template\layouts\MSILM2\Help\1033\ILMHelp.cab where it's supposed to be, but it's not here. Is this a general error or is it just me?/Frederik Leed

As I understand it the guids are generated by the FIM installer and are unique for each FIM Server ... the help files exist on my C: drive under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\MSILM2\Help\1033\html\ and there are links to these in various places (such as the help files themselves and the RCDCs) which allow URLs such as the one you list to be resolved ... I have just checked on my FIM server and the above "Workflow Lookups" link resolves to http://localhost/IdentityManagement/aspx/customized/~/_layouts/MSILM2/HELP/1033/html/21804dc7-0510-4e04-b05b-d0c348e46d9f.htm which you can see is a different guid to yours. I don't know if this will fix it or not, but I would start with running a repair on your FIM server ... if this doesn't help you may need to uninstall/reinstall (unless there are any other suggestions?). As i see it, this is the only file that i an missing. I'm missing in on both my dev. and my prod server. OK, that your file resolves to another Guid, but is the file there? If so, can i have it? It seems to be the only file that i am missing :)/Frederik Leed

Frederik, I dont think you are alone here, I think you may have found a bug in the documentation. have just check 3 instances of FIM I have and the file does not exist on any of them. All the links within the documentation (It is in other locations as well) all link to 0bc09854-5a25-4658-9ebc-3b55168e11c4.htm which does not exist. What information were you after from the workflow lookups link? I am sure someone in this forum should be able to fill in the blanks for you. Phil

Great Phil, thanks for the info. I'll make a support case with Microsoft later today. What i'm looking for, is something like this; http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff800820(WS.10).aspx just for e-mail templates. A list of what variables i can use to get info from the Workflow./Frederik Leed

i can confirm it's missing in English FIMPortal. It should be there for other languages. i am talking to the right person. If you have already filed a case with PSS, feel free to ask PSS to contact me This is using Bing Translate one of the localized version back to english Research workflow lookups workflow end 2010 are a design feature that lets you create workflows that process data in various circumstances. Surveys act as a token or variable that is evaluated when the workflow is rendered. For example, when you request membership to a group, a workflow can send an application for approval by e-mail to the group owner. Instead of specifying the owner directly, you can create a search that will send e-mail message to//Target/owner. This will ensure that if the group owner change, the workflow will send an e-mail message to the appropriate user or group. Surveys are composed of a workflow Parameter and an attribute parameter. * Request – contains information associated with the Application that initiated the current workflow. CreatedDate parameter is available, which contains the date on which the request was submitted in regional setting used by the server. * Applicant – this is the feature of END 2010 that submits the request. Is typically a user resource type. All attributes of the objects available are available for reference. * WorkflowData – a custom expression whose attribute values are only used in a workflow instance, for example//WorkflowData/ExchangeServer or//WorkflowData/InitialPassword. * Target – this is the subject of ORDER 2010 that is currently being modified or deleted. This parameter is empty to Create scenarios. All attributes of the objects available are available for reference, for example,//Target/MemberToAdd//Target/DisplayedOwner//Target/manager, etc. * RequestParameter – This is used to read the attribute Parameter in the subject of the application. * Delta – the delta parameter is only used during modification operations and contains changes that are being applied to the destination. The parameters are available and ExplicitMember ExplicitMember/Added/Removed.

Here is the original English content: Workflow Lookups FIM 2010 Workflow Lookups are a design feature that let you create Workflows that handle data under a variety of circumstance. Lookups act as a token or variable that is evaluated when the Workflow is processed. For example, when you request to join a group, a Workflow can send an approval e-mail request to the owner of the group. Instead of specifying the owner directly, you can create a Lookup that will send the e-mail to //Target/owner. This will ensure that if the owner of the group changes, the Workflow will still send e-mail to the appropriate user or group. Lookups consist of a Workflow Parameter and a Parameter Attribute. Request – contains information that is associated with the Request that launched the current workflow. The available parameter is CreatedDate, which contains the date that the Request was submitted in the regional setting used by the server. Requestor – This is the FIM 2010 resource that submits the request. This is usually a user resource type. All the attributes of the available objects are available to reference. WorkflowData – A custom expression whose attribute values are used only inside a Workflow instance, for example //WorkflowData/ExchangeServer or //WorkflowData/InitialPassword. Target – This is the FIM 2010 object that is currently being modified or deleted. This parameter is empty for Create scenarios. All the attributes of the available objects are available to reference, for example //Target/manager, //Target/DisplayedOwner, //Target/MemberToAdd, etc. RequestParameter – This is used to read the Parameter attribute on the request object. Delta – The Delta parameter is used strictly during modify operations, and contains changes that are being requested to the target. The available parameters are ExplicitMember/Added and ExplicitMember/Removed.
