Hi I have just installed WSS 3.0 SP2 on my machine... and I have WSS_Content database in place from my previous version of WSS ie. WSS 3.0 SQL Server 2005. Whenever I try to add a content database to my machine I get the following error message. " The specified SPContentDatabase has been upgraded to a newer version of SharePoint. Please upgrade this SharePoint app before attempting to access this object " Please help. How do I overcome this situation. what patch level do I need to install on my WSS? if any! Kind Regards, Sepaka

You're getting that error because your content database backup is of a different SharePoint version than the farm you are trying to attach it to. You need to get your farm on the same SharePoint version before attaching the database. I do not know what patch level you had your previous farm at, so I cannot advise on what service packs you might be missing. If you do not have that documented somewhere, trial and error of applying a service pack and then attempting to reattach the database is your best bet.
