Environment: SharePoint 2010 w/ October CU on Windows 2008 R2 Server. Fresh install, not a migration from a previous release. After doing a test restore in my test environment, I notice that there is an additional Application Pool. I now have 2 "Sharepoint Web Services Default" pools by the following names. Service Application Pool - Sharepoint Web Services Default_1086f43c48084c409705000922f00d5b3b Service Application Pool - Sharepoint Web Services Default According to the description field, the second pool above only has "Search Administration Web Service for Search Service Application" associated to it. The remaining applications are in the first pool above. Originally, all the application were in the one "Service Application Pool - Sharepoint Web Services Default" pool. I restored using "Restore-SPFarm -Directory \path -RestoreMethod Overwrite -BackId 1234-1234-1234". This was a restore from an earlier "Backup-SPFarm" backup from the same server. I'm running a Single Server Test Farm with SQL Server Standard Edition. Thanks!!
