You won't find the task sequence as an xml file stored on the media. So what you are seeing is by design.

It is embedded and encrypted to my knowledge. Why do you want to know? What's your goal?

hi Jason Sandys

I have been working on creating a tool that could be used for incremental image updates for stand alone media using SCCM .

what we are trying to do is suppose we have a build V1 that contain OS+application 1+application 2 of total size 6GB

next time another build  V2 that contain OS+application 1+application 2 +application 3 of total size 7GB

and so on the client will have to down load entire media every single time this causes redundant package downloads so we are working on building a tool that can extract the REDUNDANT PACKAGES and reduse the amount of data upload and download.

so the client doesn't have to download the entire build each time they can use the older build V1 and the updates file  to create V2

so i want to know the criteria on which we can compare different packages in stand alone build .

thanks .

Two things: either use OEM task sequences and media which (more or less) will meet your goals or work with the product team directly if you truly must use stand-alone media. The later as mentioned involves encryption and I doubt they've provided any easy methods around this or any customization avenues but only they will know for sure -- certainly nothing is publically documented on this.
