Task Sequence using SECEDIT.exe
I keep getting error 3 when trying to apply a policy with secedit. It's driving me nuts because it was working fine for the longest time then just stopped. I had made changes, the errors started, then I changed everything back and I still have the error. It looks like the policy is applying but I'm still getting the error. I know this may not be the right forum for the use of SECEDIT, but since I'm using it in a task sequence it becomes more difficult to debug. I'm looking for others who use SECEDIT in a TS to gather from there experiences. Thanks in advance.

Error code 3 = "The system cannot find the path specified." Either a file is no longer where it was or the path entered is somehow wrong. Are you using a batch file to call it? Are you using a relative path to the policy file?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

Yes. It appears in the log file that the page file is causing the error. I'm using SECEDIT to change permissions on the C: drive. It's for some reason attempting to change the perms on the page file. Weird thing is I expect the page file not to change because it's locked, but I wasn't getting error 3 before so it's driving me nuts that it's doing this now.

The error three was always there. I had a command just after the secedit to move files and had shifted them.
