Task Reminders in SharePoint Services 3.0
Hello all!! I am new to this site and new to SharePoint as well. My company has the very basic SharePoint Services 3.0 and there is nobody here who really knows how to use it (or wants to share information). So, I'm hoping that someone on here can help me out. I purchased a book to help get me started, but I had a request to do something that I can't readily find in the book. I created a list that has tasks that are assigned to various people. I figured out how to do this and have it send the initial email stating they were assigned a task and what it is. But what I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way to send a reminder email 3 days prior to the due date? I don't know if our version of SharePoint will allow that or if we need an upgraded version. ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!!! Feeling a little on my own here trying to figure this all out. THANKS!!!!!

That is not out-of-the-box functionality, no matter which version/edition. But, you can make a workflow in SharePoint Designer to do it.
