Target Audience of a Web Part issue?
I've created a new document library and applied a couple AD groups to it. The AD groups are from different servers. We have one for internal users and one for external accts. Call them INTERNAL/GROUP1 and EXTERNAL/GROUP2. The DocLib has been tested logging in internally and externally and it works fine.I added the Web Part to a page and was able to use Target Audience for INTERNAL/GROUP1 , but it's not finding EXTERNAL/GROUP. So, it works fine for the actual Document Library, but can't be seen through Audience Targeting.I tried rebooting the Front End as well as the index Server, and made sure the User crawls were up to date.Any suggestions?

I am not sure if you have created Audiences or you are using groups.Incase you are using groups, they need to be Active directory groups, you cannot have a local server group there. Please check.I LOVE MS..... The select audience dialog for the web part target audience setting get AD groups from the MemberGroup table in SharePoint Shared Services database. It seems that the EXTERNAL/GROUP2 had not been imported into the SharePoint Shared Services. You may have configured SharePoint to import user profile from only the INTERNAL domain. Please set the profile import connection to import from both INTERNAL and EXTERNAL domain. For detail, please read http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263247.aspx.
