System Discovery AD attribute Null
Greetings, I altered my System Discovery to add the Active Directory attribute of distinguishedName. All systems have null in this value. Why isnt this value being returned and does it have something to do with the fact that System Required field is "No"? I wish to add other values but I fear that this feature does not work at all. From memory, there are three AD attributes including SID and DN that are in fact always collected but never actually imported into the DB. Thius is a known issue and was never fixed in 2007. However, AD System Group Discovery does collect OU information for systems assigned to the site so this should get you the info you require.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | Twitter @JasonSandys

Thanks, System OU name is a messy field. Does CanonicalName or LastLogonTimestamp come out OK for computer accounts? Cheers David Z

LastLogonTimestamp does, but its not in a format you'll like: http://www.msfaq.se/2010/02/using-lastlogontimestamp-for-your-client-health/ Never tried CanonicalName but I think it's OK.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | Twitter @JasonSandys
