System Centre Management Configuration and System Centre Data Access services will not start on Root Management Server 2007 R2
In my wisdom whilst troubleshooting a separate issue I recreated a domain AD account that is used to logon to the SDK and CFG services. Since then I'm unable to load the management console and it seems the RMS server is unable to connect to the DB server. Neither the CFG nor the SDK services will start when set to logon with the SDK domain service account but will start when set to logon as local system and will send alerts normally. I've had a colleague refresh the account details on the SQL database but the services / RMS still can't connect. I'm assuming the account recreation has caused the issue although it could be a red herring as we also had a DB server crash a couple of weeks ago and this is the first time the RMS server has been restarted since then. Any assistance gratefully received.

Hi Sorry if I have misunderstood but it sounds like you have changed the service account used by the SDK and Config service and this has (potentially) caused the problem. Can you run through this to check you haven't missed something as part of changing the service account: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936220 Are the Service Accounts in the local windows administrator group on the RMS?
